On AUGUST 2ND, 2011-I didn't want to even give this restaurant one star-it should be given a negative! I visited this Golden Griddle location with my Mother and it was an ABSOLUTE DISASTER! I ordered the spaghetti with tomato sauce with the piece of chicken on top so it's called "chicken parmigiana". The taste of the meal was mediocre at best-I was quite hungry so it tasted better than it was due to my hunger. After the plate of spaghetti was almost finished/done-I noticed a small, hard strand of something sitting at the very bottom of the plate-I don't think it was a hair-I can only surely hope not! *crosses fingers* I showed the Manager and he said it was a piece of over-cooked pasta. However, I beg to differ because it wasn't as thick as a piece of spaghetti and it had a harder/different texture. I think it was a piece of a brush-perhaps a bbq or grilling brush-either way there is no excuse for that to be found on your plate! The next horror, while my Mother and I were eating our meals-and we were almost done-I saw an insect crawling out of the wall-right behind my Mother's seat. At first glance/thought-I didn't think much of it then I said to my Mother "Oh, there's a bug behind you" My Mother glanced up and she said with horror/disgust "COCKROACH!" I looked again and sure enough it was a cockroach! The cockroach came out of what seemed a small crack on the wall-BUT-it's still completely outrageous and disgusting to have a cockroach! The Manager came up to us and said different things to us regarding the cockroach-"You don't have to pay the meal", "yes, it's a roach", "it came from the patio-ever since it opened", "we have problems with bugs not just roaches from the patio." At the end, the Manager first said we don't have to pay and then he printed out the bill and said "Pay whatever you like". The Manager also told us that this was the second time he saw roaches and he told us to call the other Manager in order to help them out with the cockroach problem. The Manager was unprofessional and not helpful at all-he surely didn't act like a Manager should! The carpets are EXTREMELY DIRTY-LOOK AT THEM! COMPLETELY DIRTY AND THEY SMELL! WE HAVE ASKED THE WAITRESS DURING ANOTHER VISIT TO PICK UP A KETCHUP BOTTLE THAT WAS LYING UNDERNEATH THE TABLE AND DURING ANOTHER VISIT-THE STRAWBERRY IN THE CREPE WAS WASTED-TASTED LIKE MOLD AND THE MANAGER EVEN SAID IT WAS WASTED AND HE REPLACED IT! I will not return to this Golden Griddle never again because having a cockroach is exceedingly disgusting and terrible! IT IS A HEALTH HAZARD AND VIOLATION! TERRIBLE! STAY FAR AND AWAY! COCKROACH! COCKROACH! DISGUSTING!
